Habitat New York State Advocacy Day

A group of two dozen housing advocates pose for a photo in the New York State Legislative Office Building

Habitat staff and board members joined dozens of housing advocates from across New York State to advocate for policies to help expand access to affordable homeownership. We represented 33 local Habitat affiliates who partner with low- and middle-income households to achieve housing security and stability through sustainable homeownership.

The Capital District team met with the staff at the offices of Senator Chris Ryan, Assembly Member Angelo Santabarbara, Senator Carrie Woerner, our own Senator Pat Fahy, Senator Pam Helming and Assembly Member Didi Barrett. We’re grateful to for their support of policies that make homeownership more attainable for working families. Let’s build a future where more New Yorkers have a home to call their own!

From the U.S. Capitol to the New York State Capitol to the construction site, Habitat for Humanity is working to build a community where everyone has a decent place to live.
