Together, we’re building 100 new homes for first-time homebuyers in Albany

Over five years, Habitat for Humanity Capital District and the Albany County Land Bank will develop 100 new affordable homes in the City of Albany and sell them to qualified, first-time homebuyers. Habitat will build on its 30+ years of home construction and homebuyer recruitment, qualification and education. ACLB will bring its experience as the top performing land bank in the state and its track record in spearheading transformative projects to revitalize Albany’s distressed neighborhoods.

The estimated cost for 100in5 is $28 million across three phases of construction, which includes selective building demolition and the rehab or construction of 100 affordable homes in priority clusters that align with current and planned public, private and nonprofit investments and are located in Qualified Census Tracts and historically-redlined neighborhoods. 100in5 will address the history of bank redlining, housing discrimination and disinvestment in Albany. Further, 100in5 will create a foundation for the city’s equitable growth by transferring property back into resident control and stabilizing neighborhoods against future displacement.
