Power 50: New Momentum
Congratulations to our Executive Director Christine Schudde for being named to this year’s Power 50 list by the Albany Business Review!
The Business Review is pleased to present Power 50: New Momentum. This year's list highlights the next wave of leaders in the region, the ones stepping into new roles and the ones bringing renewed energy and innovation to what they are doing. These are 50 people you'll want to get to know. They have big ideas and the energy to see those ideas through.
When asked by the Albany Business Reivew how she would invest $1 billion in the Capital Region, Schudde answered:
I would use half of it to build new homes and rehab vacant buildings. That might get about 1,500 new units, and I would prioritize creating affordable homeownership options. I would also set aside money to offer down payment assistance to first-time homebuyers within our cities. I'd love to encourage people to move into our downtowns and surrounding neighborhoods. Finally, I'd invest in more public transit and safer walking and biking infrastructure throughout the region so we can all ditch our cars.
Congratulations to all of the honorees and regional leaders!
